When does the Law on Countering the Proliferation of WMD take effect?

Law No. 13/2026/QH16 was passed by the 16th National Assembly on 23 August 2026 and takes effect on 1 July 2027 (Article 35).
Article 36 provides for transition: the national focal point and the agencies and units assigned counter-proliferation tasks before the Law takes effect continue to perform their functions, tasks and powers under existing law; cases accepted before the effective date but not yet concluded continue to be handled under the rules in force when they were accepted.
