Tại Mục 3.C.2., vật liệu cách nhiệt dùng để phủ lên các bộ phận của động cơ tên lửa, tức là vỏ, cửa vào loa phụt, nắp đậy vỏ, bao gồm vật liệu tấm cao su phối trộn đã lưu hóa hoặc bán lưu hóa có chứa vật liệu cách nhiệt hoặc vật liệu chịu lửa. Vật liệu này cũng có thể được tích hợp dưới dạng ống bọc hoặc nắp giảm ứng suất được quy định tại 3.A.3.
